Businesses and Job Seekers Mix For Unique Networking Opportunity at wec talent connect
The “speed dating” model matches employers with potential employees
Round Rock, Texas (Feb 10, 2011) – The 3rd Wilco Entrepreneurs Community (WEC) Talent Connect gives start up companies and businesses a chance to meet skilled local job seekers and offers the job seekers a chance to “speed pitch” to promote themselves. Based on what they learn, the businesses have the option of offering individuals a chance to volunteer, work on short term projects, or possibly full time employment.
Ideal for companies (talent seekers) who need help but cannot afford full time employees, this job fair “with a twist” allows businesses to quickly find great talent with flexible arrangements. Job seekers have the opportunity to create a position for themselves for a company in need. In addition to networking, attendees will have the benefit of listening to Mr. John Garrett, CEO of Community Impact Newspapers, and to an economic development panel representing 4 Wilco cities.
The cost is free to job seekers and a small donation of $50 per table is suggested for participating companies. Online company registration is available here. The agenda is available here.
The WEC Talent Connect will be held at the Hill Country Bible Church, on Monday, March 28 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m, with sign-in beginning at 8:30 a.m.
The mission of the Wilco Entrepreneurs Community (WEC) is to develop a community of networking, support, talent and funding to more entrepreneurs and small businesses from idea to profit and encouraging local economic development (which creates stable, local jobs).
